One of the most significant parameters for our sites is the bounce rate. This measures the percentage of people who come to our website and leave it after visiting a single page. A high bounce rate translates into public disinterest in our site.
Bounce is calculated as a single page visit or a single event trigger in a session or visit.
The following situations are considered rebounds:
- A user clicks on an internal link on the site that a friend sent them, reads the information on the page, and closes the browser.
- A user comes to your home page, takes a look for a minute or two, and leaves immediately.
- A user directly accesses a referring page on your site from a web search, leaves the page available in the browser while completing various tasks in other browser windows, and expires the session.
