In 2015, Laboratoria Mexico presented its first graduating class at a demo day attended by members of the local technology community. This article preserves that event as a historical account.
Technology as a path to opportunity
Laboratoria was created to help women develop practical digital skills and enter the technology industry. During the program, participants learned through projects, collaboration and direct exposure to professional working practices.
The demo day gave the new coders an opportunity to present their work, receive feedback and connect with potential employers and collaborators. For the wider community, it demonstrated why access, training and inclusive hiring matter to the growth of the sector.
