Web accessibility enables more people to use digital information and services, including people with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive and speech disabilities. The need applies in Mexico and every market a website serves.
Begin with inclusive research
Include people with disabilities in research and testing. Assumptions based only on automated tools or nondisabled users leave important barriers undiscovered.
Build semantic, adaptable content
Use meaningful HTML, logical headings, descriptive controls, text alternatives and layouts that remain usable when content is enlarged or reflowed.
Support keyboard and assistive technology
Every action should work without a mouse, focus should remain visible and status changes should be communicated appropriately.
Make accessibility operational
Define requirements, ownership and review throughout design, development and publishing. Procurement and third-party components need the same scrutiny.
Verify current obligations
Legal requirements differ by sector and jurisdiction and can change. Consult current official guidance and qualified specialists where compliance advice is required.
Accessibility is an ongoing quality practice, not a one-time certification at launch.
